On a chilly February Friday evening, 38 NCF team members and their families were privileged to serve at the Tim Tebow Foundation's local Night to Shine: an unforgettable prom event centered on God’s love for people with special needs ages 14 and older.
At First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia, NCF staff helped facilitate a variety of fun activities that gave attendees the “royal treatment.” The honored guests walked the red carpet with photo-snapping volunteers and entered a beautifully decorated wonderland complete with tiaras and crowns, dancing, games, karaoke, face painting, party favors, as well as personal services from hair and makeup to shoeshines and limo rides. They also enjoyed a special dinner catered by Chick-fil-A.
NCF staff member Sheila Long, who served at the event along with her daughters, said, “Night to Shine was like a picture of what the Body of Christ is made of. Everyone had a place of honor, and the atmosphere was pure joy. It gave us a little taste of Heaven.”
Around the world, Night to Shine was hosted by 540 churches in 16 countries and provided an environment to celebrate 90,000 guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers.
Tim Tebow summed up the worldwide experience this way: “Night to Shine's amazing attendees felt like the kings and queens they are as our volunteers served them. Those with special needs were not only celebrated, but reminded that God loves them and has a plan for them."
